The General Assembly meeting elected the new Board of Directors that will lead AmCham through 2009 – 2010. Through the voting process, where were present the necessary quorum of the members, 7 board members were voted, including the vice president and secretary positions.
The Executive Director, Mrs. Floreta Luli-Faber present a lot of information to the members on the past and future activities of the Chamber. Referring to the very difficult year 2009, the President of AmCham, Mr. Philip H. Bay declared “…this is the less affected country by the global economic crisis, it is a conservative country with healthy economic fundamentals dhe with a strong family base”. The special guest of this meeting, the US Ambassador Mr. John Whithers, said it is very easy for the US Embassy to help an energetic and successful organization, that is growing so fast, like the American Chamber.
The General Assembly continued by voting the candidates for vice president and secretary, and the second round for the next 13 candidates running for 5 positions as board member. The first round the members voted Mr. Genc Boga running for vice president, and Mrs. Sophia Darling and Mr. Robert Wood running for Secretary. After this voting process, Mr. Boga is the new vice president of AmCham, and Mrs. Sophia Darling the new Secretary of AmCham.
The second round, the members voted the 11 candidates, Mrs. Adriana Berberi, Mr.Anton Lezhja, Mr.Arsen Kurti, Mr.David B. Smith, Mrs.Edlira Mali, Mr.Emil Olovanov, Mr.Genci Likoskendaj, Mr.Grigor Joti, Mr.Oliver Whittle, Mr.Qirjako Koçollari, Mr. Robert Wood, running for 5 board members positions. At the end of this process, the new board members of AmCham were Mrs. Adriana Berberi, Mr. Oliver Whittle, Mr. Genc Likoskendaj, Mr. Robert Wood and Mr.David Smith.
