The American Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Mrs. Jozefina Topalli, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, organized with the members of  the Women of Business Active Committee a WORKING BREAKFAST - “Challenges for Women to be part of the decision taking process” at Albanian Parliament on Tuesday, January 13, 2009.

Political life of the country acknowledges many active women, but when they join forces with active women in business, the impact for the society and the country remains positive. The meeting of the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Mrs. Jozefina Topalli and the Committee of Active Women in Business of the American Chamber of Commerce had just this idea in focus. How can politics and business, when managed from professional women who are successful in their field, be working together.

Presenting with members of American Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Topalli has suggested that conversation may pass beyond formal limits of a meeting and may become free in order to exchange ideas and opinions on how could be fruitful such collaboration in the future.

During the meeting, Mrs. Topalli offered the assistance of the institution she leads in order to make possible a direct support to women in business,  in regard with discussion and approval of laws and fiscal policies. Speaking on the work of American Chamber being filtered in its committees, it is declared that the Chamber has not only a strong Women’s Committee, but also a Committee of Taxes and Laws where they also give much help. With much interest was received from Mrs. Topalli the idea of including in the state budget a fund that will be used from state institutions to coordinate their assistance with NGO that work in the field of promoting and assisting women, with the aim of channeling this issue to official routes.

Talking to Mrs. Jozefina Topalli, members of the Chamber have brought their experiences and also problems they face everyday in the business where they work.

The meeting between Active Women in Business and the Speaker Jozefina Topalli went on in a very friendly and warm atmosphere leaving space for other meetings in the future that, will develop further and make more concrete the idea of collaboration.
