The Job Fair 2010 was a successful two-day event held on May 17 and 18. A conference on the Health and Social Insurance Systems was held during the first day of the event. Excellent key speakers, professional on the topic participated: the Vice Minister of Labor, Mr. Kastriot Sulkaj, the Director of the Health Care Insurances Institute, Ms. Elvana Hana and the Vice director of the Social Insurances Institute, Mr. Astrit Hado.

A participation of about 60 HR Professionals from AmCham member companies, showed a high interest to discuss over the issues. The day was sponsored by ANDE-LM®, one of the few job placing companies in Albania.

The first day of the event was followed by a training on ‘How to Behave in a Job Interview’. This training was intended mainly to students and youngsters who were going to give their first job interview.

The second day of the event, was the day of the interviews. The participation of 20 companies which offered 140 open job positions attracted the attention of more than 1000 applicants. The Minister of Labour, Mr. Spiro Ksera, who visited the event said during the opening ceremony that the job fairs play an important role in the job market.

In the coming weeks, AmCham does an evaluation of the event, summarizing comments of the companies and candidates interviewed during the event, estimating the number of people actually employed as a result of the Job Fair, discussing the format of the event and what should be done different in the next job fair.
